Parents and players,
Thank you for all of your participation in the Summer portion of the Elkins Baseball off-season program. We are now in the process of gearing up for the Fall portion of our program.
There will be a few changes made for the Fall season. With many of our players being two way student-athletes and going to prepare for their upcoming football season, our rosters will be re-worked to accommodate players that choose to play baseball year round.
While our rosters have not yet been completed, we do intend to field two Varsity teams and three sub-varsity teams (should we have enough players). We have not settled on what leagues we will enter our teams, but I am well aware that rising fuel costs and long travel times have impacted those that were asked to do that in the Summer and that is being addressed. What I ask of all of you is to understand the goals of the Off-season program. It is our job to get all players as many reps as possible against the best possible competition and sometimes that does require travel outside of the Missouri City/Sugar Land area. While winning every game is not our goal, all players are expected to prepare and play to 100% of their abilities. Slacking off or being lazy will no longer be tolerated in the off-season program. When you play a game representing the Elkins Knights, you need to take it seriously.
Rosters and schedules for the Fall will be posted here as soon as they are completed. Most Fall leagues start play in early September so please keep working out and doing your side work to stay in shape for the season. Should you have any questions regarding the off-season program, please feel free to contact me.
