Would most like to meet Nolan Ryan because "he worked hard throughout his entire career and personally pushed himself to exceed" and Craig Biggio because "always a class act and dedicated person and player to whatever he is trying to accomplish."

Patrick Penry-Varsity Assistant Coach

Was an All State player at Elkins and member of team that was 5A Runner-Up in 1998.  Played on San Jacinto JC team that came in 3rd place in the Junior College World Series before finishing up his playing at Houston Baptist and Sam Houston State.
"If I had to meet two baseball players they would have to be Ty Cobb and Pete Rose. They both were masters of hitting and hard work. They played the game all out at all times and were very intense."

Todd Dorgan-Junior Varsity Coach

Coach Dorgan is entering his 3rd year as a member of the Elkins Baseball Coaching Staff. This is his 2nd year leading the Junior Varsity Squad. Prior to that, he spent 1 year coaching the Sophomore Team. Coach Dorgan earned a Masters of Education in Kinesiology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelors of Science in Education from Western Michigan University.

Christo Amarantos-Sophomore Coach

Coach Carpenter and the rest of the staff would  like to take a moment to recognize the hard work and dedication of two men that were instrumental in establishing and building this program into what it is today.  Former assistant coaches Luis Venitucci and Ted Harris came to Elkins in the beginning  and their constant hard work and dedication while at EHS will be forever remembered by the student athletes, parents, and other coaches that they came in contact with.

Coach Venitucci worked with Coach Carpenter as an assistant for 12 years at LaMarque and Elkins before becoming the head coach  at Pflugerville HS.  He was the pitching coach and if you ask anybody that he worked with, don't be surprised if the word "legend" comes out of their mouth.  He was a most crucial part in getting the program headed in the direction that it is today.

While Coach Harris retired after the 2000 season to pursue another career, his influences were still being felt last season as the sophomores he coached became seniors and helped the Knights win the state title.  Coach Harris was an assistant for Coach Carpenter at Dulles for one year before moving over to Elkins where he became the head coach of the sophomore team.
